The GLS Rescue Paddleboards are built for saving lives. Our Rescue Paddleboard is designed to get the Lifeguard in and out of the water as fast as possible. Mere seconds can mean the difference of Life and Death. The GLS Rescue Paddleboard is shaped with a flat deck and full angled rails, for maximum paddling speed. The bottom is flat with a slight angled bevel, for rail release when coming in through the surf. This is a true Rescue Paddleboard, not a surfboard with handles. The handles on the GLS Rescue Paddleboards are a woven nylon wrapped with neoprene for a strong yet comfortable grip. They are anchored with stainless steel screws into a submerged insert. They do not go through to the bottom of the board. This results a secure waterproof handle system. In the 5 years, GLS has been implementing this system, we haven’t had one handle failure. The GLS Rescue Paddleboard is made with 4" Dow core and our “Dura-Slick” bottom skin. Dual wood stringers laminated with fiberglass, gives the paddleboard strength and stiffness under all ocean conditions.

Racing Paddleboards

The GLS Racing Paddleboards came into being from the requests of Lifeguards for a fast, durable, affordable racing paddleboard for the USLA competitions. Primarily used for the Junior Guards competitions, it has been a hit since debuting in the summer of 2010. The GLS Racing Paddleboard has a sleeker racing outline, with parallel rails. A flat deck with full boxy rails keeps this paddleboard on a straight line, for faster times. The flat bottom features a slight angled bevel for release and control when coming in through the surf. With all of these design components in place, it makes for a very fast Paddleboard. The GLS Racing Paddleboards are built with the same construction and materials as the GLS Rescue Paddleboards. The GLS Racing Paddleboards come in lengths of 8'0", 9'0", 10'0" and 10'6".
