GLS Surf & Rescue

“With out a doubt, your boards are the best! I have seen and used them all at my surf camps...None compare to your GLS soft surfboards when it comes to design, performance, durability and safety features. Your GLS boards provide a definite advantage in the water when it comes to making a memorable surfing experience for all ages. My daughters, novice students, and intermediate surfers as well as my camp instructors thoroughly enjoy surfing and using the GLS models.”

I’m so happy with our new Quiver of GLS Soft Surfboards! I’m also very proud to be supporting United States labor and technology designed and made by devoted surfers that understand what the product is being used for. I have been teaching professionally since 1983 and have used many different types of soft surfboards for my students and rentals. I have been looking for the last several years to find a top quality soft surfboard that won’t fall apart, has good bottom curve, clean rails and is wide enough for beginners. Greg, the fact that you have been making soft surfboards since the early days and are a surfer/shaper, gives me the confidence in your ability to build a safe, functional, top quality soft surfboard. These GLS soft boards are the finest soft surfboards I’ve ever used! Keep up the good work, and good luck!

Hey guys keep up the good work! I have been riding Greg’s boards for over 25 years. I am a firm believer in GLS boards and have ridden these boards in many different wave conditions and performed many rescues as a Daytona Beach Florida Lifeguard. I can honestly say I will stay with GLS as long as the good Lord keeps them coming, once again thanking the entire crew for the best softboard in the market today. Trust me after 25 years of trying many different softboards, a person learns a thing or two. Don’t waste your time or money with any other softboard. This picture was taken in Costa Rica’s North Pacific Coast (Avellanas) early in the morning. We rode double overhead, clean and perfect conditions.

I am a firm believer in softboards (GLS) only. I have tried them all, I get them sent to me for free from every maker known to the soft board industry. Greg has more experience than anyone by a long shot. My experimenting ended years ago, GLS is the only way to go if you dare to make the switch to a softboard (they are not for beginners only) dare to take the challenge. I have not fixed a ding in 25 years. They are paddle machines. Keep in mind that surfing is 90 percent paddling, 4 inch core is the way to go for any size and weight. The only board you can actually knee paddle for any sort of distance and not feel like your knees are shot.

THANKS GLS!!! After 15 years of full-time year-round surf instruction, we are thrilled to finally be able to offer our students the best possible surfboard to learn to surf on which provides the quickest learning curve. As a surfboard shaper of 25 years I often thought "if I made a softboard...", well GLS IS that board! I was intensely critical and apprehensive of every detail in the manufacturing process, but was more than pleased to finally see proper rocker, easy forgiving full rails, light weight and maneuverable, waterproof, full templates, bottom contours, rigid with sealed stringers, and a pleasing overall design with custom logos as well.. very professional looking and great performance.

After just a few days in use we quickly noticed our students were learning and improving more rapidly. As a parent and former Hawaiian lifeguard, safety is our first concern, you can be confident that your child or student will not get injured by a light weight GLS softboard. Also, you won't be paying for any costly fiberglass or epoxy repairs... or medical bills. Customer service at GLS is what you expect from a true American small business - personal, prompt, professional custom orders with no excuses or anything to hide. That's rare these days, we have not experienced anything remotely close in either surfboard quality or service from all of the other manufacturers we have dealt with in the past.

There are many softboards on the market today that are just mass-produced junk. We paid a heavy price to learn that lesson. Don't waste your money anywhere else. We are very grateful for GLS committment to excellence in soft surfboards. Oh, one more thing... the wide 11' SUP model without straps is absolute magic for those difficult lessons!!

Congratulations and best of luck to your crew!
